Terms & Conditions

When you book training with us, you are agreeing to the below Terms & Conditions. These are available in printed form if needed by the client.

  1. The terms and conditions listed below form a contract between the “Customer” undertaking any training course and KTS LGV Driver Training (KTS) “The Company”.
  2. All Course fees must be paid in full before Training commences. To book a course a minimum 50% deposit will be required. By paying a deposit or the full amount you agree to the terms and conditions laid out below.
  3. All deposits paid to the company are subject to clause 11.
  4. A. Course cancellations must be made in writing (e.g. by email) to KTS and sent to arrive no later than five working weeks prior to commencement of the course.
    3. B. Cancellations made with less than 5 weeks’ notice will incur a 100% charge, cancellations made with more than 5 weeks’ notice will receive a refund less deposit paid and any further expenses.
  5. The company cannot be held responsible for a practical test being cancelled by the Driving Standards Agency (DVSA). In the event of the DVSA cancelling a test we will endeavour to supply a test as soon as possible at no cost to the trainee, however if the trainee has used all of their training time they will be subject to the cost of any further training but not the test fee.
  6. In the event of a mechanical breakdown the company will provide the equivalent lost time tuition at no extra cost and accepts no financial penalty i.e. loss of wages in respect of this condition but all cases will be looked upon on an individual basis.
  7. The customer must be in possession of a legal driving license(s) or provisional category licence (relevant to the course being booked) before commencement of the course. The company accepts no responsibility for customers who have not complied with these requirements and all deposits and course fees paid will be non-refundable.
  8. The company reserves the right to terminate any person/customer whilst on their course that they consider to be a danger to themselves, the instructors and the public without loss to the company. KTS will not tolerate any verbal or physical abuse of any kind, customers displaying this behaviour towards employees of KTS or the public will be removed from training with immediate effect, KTS will not be liable for any costs in this instance.
  9. Should the customer miss any days of training on their course for whatever reason (including sickness), the company reserves the right to withhold all monies paid – but each case will be looked at on an individual basis.
  10. The company cannot guarantee to the customer that they will use the same vehicle for training or re-testing although the company will endeavour to keep you in the same vehicle for the duration of the course.
  11. Deposits are non-refundable and equal 50% of the total course cost.
  12. The company cannot be held responsible for any loss of personal effects the customer may leave in the vehicle or on company premises.
  13. The customer must produce a valid photographic Driving Licence and a theory test pass certificate to the instructor (at the beginning of the course) and the examiner on the day of the test. Failure to do so will result in the course and test being terminated. All course and test fees paid will be non-refundable.
  14. All trainees should be physically fit and have good eyesight, if glasses are a requirement for driving (code 01 on the back of licence), they should be used for training and the test (the DVSA reserves the right to cancel any test if the trainee is not wearing required glasses/contact lenses) and if the test is forfeited additional costs will be incurred.
  15. The company reserve the right to terminate the course should the customer be suspected to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs during the duration of their training and all course fees will be non-refundable. We reserve the right to conduct random testing of any trainees/customers.
  16. The company operates a NO SMOKING (including Vaping) policy in all training vehicles and whilst on DVSA test sites. There is no exception to this rule.
  17. It is the customers responsibility to wear appropriate footwear whilst training (we recommend flat soled boots/shoes not boots/shoes with a high heel), KTS will be able to provide a High Visibility tabard which customers can keep upon course completion (customer doing a retest must provide their own).
  18. Due to the Covid-19 virus, all trainees will be required to wear a face covering at all times. If trainees arrive a training without a face covering this will prevent training from going ahead and result in the forfeiture of that training and all costs attached.
    These procedures are in place to ensure we are doing the best we can to keep both customers and employees safe during the ongoing pandemic.
  19. Any training/tests impacted by government announcements/restrictions will be rescheduled (for courses that have not yet begun). In the event that you have already begun a training course, rebooking of the hours already undertaken will be charged, the rest will be rescheduled at no further charge.
